Information
Woodpeckers are funny birds around our house. They act like they are stealing a seed and then take it away to eat it. But they are humble, they only get 1 seed at a time.
These three pictures are of a young bird. Its head has not yet turned red.
The woodpeckers have carved out small holes in the tree trunks. They insert the seed into the hole to hold it so they can peck into it. I will get a picture of one of the holes someday.

This juvenile is a bit bashful. He kept hiding behind the feeder.

After he would get his seed, he would take it up high to open and eat it.
