Jim Malo was born in Columbus Georgia. Attended Mathews Elementary School (it was Mamie J Mathews when I was there), Talbotton Road Junior High School (torn down and rebuilt as Hannah Elementary), and graduated from Shaw High School in 1982. Then attended Columbus College (before it became CSU) for two years before transferring to The Georgia Institute of Technology. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering in 1987, Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering in 1989, and finally earned my Ph.D. in 1994. All from Ga Tech.
